SheShiny Co. was born from one curly girl’s journey—mine!
I was the only curly-haired baby in my family, and trust me, it was a whole situation. My mom had no idea what to do with my frizzy, wild hair, and everyone kept saying, “Wow, your hair is so unique!”—but to me, it always felt like something was missing.
As I grew up, I tried everything to “fix” my curls: straighteners, relaxers, harsh chemical treatments—you name it. At just 10 years old, one of those treatments went horribly wrong. I lost nearly all my hair. It was scary, heartbreaking, and it stuck with me for years! shaping both my hair journey and my lifestyle!
Years later, my curls started growing back, but they felt… off. Damaged, dull, and not truly mine. I kept straightening them, thinking that was the only way to make them manageable. But deep down, something is off! This wasn’t what I truly wanted. I longed for natural hair without all the damage and struggle. But for so long, it felt like I didn’t have a choice
At 26, something clicked.
I thought, “What if I just let my curls *be*?”
No fighting, no fixing. Just flowing with them.
Later, I started to get hooked on curly hair content—tutorials, reels, routines...etc. With all the natural curl trends popping off, it felt like I was learning an entirely new story about my hair!
Slowly, my curls started coming back to life. Within two years, I got my full, natural curls back—and with them came confidence, self-love, and a whole new energy and vibe that I never felt before!
